Proverb of the Day……With Gloria Mwaniga

From the Swahili:

Embe dodo sawa sawa na kisukari.

Translation: “A dodo (a type of mango) is the same as ( just as good as) a kisukari (a type of banana).

Meaning:

Don’t be too choosy as it is better to have something than to have absolutely nothing.

Usage :

This was used to encourage people to be thankful for whatever they had however small.

Swahili is a bantu language  spoken by various ethnic groups that inhabit the coastline from Coastal Kenya,Tanzania  and most of east Africa.  it is used as a lingua franca in much of east Africa of , meaning the total number of speakers exceeds 60 million.
